1+1=3

Since our last post, quite a bit has happened at the Geddes household. One thing I have learned this summer is that life can seem bland, especially when work and school never seem to end. However, as I look back on the past few months, I realize life is as vibrant as we paint it to be. We are SO blessed, and what a shame to pass by all of our blessings without ever acknowledging they are there. It really is the little things in life that bring us so much peace and happiness. We love our families, we love the gospel of Jesus Christ, and we love our new little baby Geddes to be. Most of all, we love that this family can be together forever.

Welp, without further adieu- heres our rockin' summer of 2013:

Honeymooners

Soooo it's actually been a few months since our wedding, but we finally went on our honeymoon this past week. We decided last minute to fly to the gorg country of Costa Rica, rent a car, and see as much as we possibly could. We hiked, rapelled, ziplined, and went free-falling through the rainforests. We bungee jumped, ate both terrible and wonderful food, and paid way too much for bottled water. We played with monkeys and watched sloths, and became total beach bums for a day or two. We got lost (literally) for hours in the hectic streets of San Jose and spoke Spanish with American accents.

I absolutely loved getting to travel, explore, and be adventurous with my hubs! But in all honesty, I feel like every week is exciting and wonderful in a simple kind of way. We don't have to travel the world to be in love or like being with each other- we just do. For that, I am forever grateful.

One of my most favorite things we did while in CR was going to our church there. It was such a strengthening and neat experience to get to go to a whole different country, and still be able to feel the same strength, faith, and love through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. How cool that even in this poverty ridden part of the country they still believe and are such faithful members of the church. We were so blessed to be able to attend service with these humble members!
One of the Hymns we sang during Sacrament meeting. Different language, same beautiful Spirit.

Getting ready to go bungee jumping.. what a rush!
The view from our balcony every morning.

Part of the rainforest reserve in CR. Breathtaking.

Two happy little gringos.

Tarzan swingin it up. I obviously wasn't doing it right haha

Jeff looking like he knows what he is doing.

The tide got so high that I had to move my towel because the waves were soaking it!

Zipling like a champ.

The only decent meal we had in CR. And it was FAB!

Because everyone needs a duck face pic in CR.

BUNGEEE

Such grace.

Paradise.

Just monkeying around

This hottie is also the sweetest, most loyal, and gentle human I have ever met.

Weekend Warriors

Howdy Y'all!

This has been such a crazy, insane, and fun week for us Geddes'. We have crammed for tests until we felt like we were dying, played games with our friends until we cried of laughter, I began training for my new job, and we got to spend some really amazing time together at our favorite place in Provo, the Temple.

Jeff and I were invited to come crash two of our favorite people's house for dinner and scattergories. Sarah is seriously the best cook ever. Every time we go over there, something gourmet is cooking. This time it was chicken tortilla soup (my fave), and stuffed bell peppers. Then we played scattergories, and I learned that Jeff can be quite creative with his responses at times...:) Needless to say, I won. Well, Almost..

Then it was temple date night for us for the week. We got to do sealings for some of my ancestors who have passed away. Seriously, such a special experience. This sounds cheesy, but every time we come to this special place together, our love grows sweeter, and deeper. I love him so much!

We were starved when we left, so Jeff surprised me and brought me to one of my favorite restaurants, OG (olive garden, obviously).

And finally, today we got the opportunity to give talks on the atonement at church. I loved being able to reflect on the Savior, and his sacrifice for us, especially around this very special time of year. One scripture I came across had a huge impact on how I began to think of Christ, and how his love can change us:
John 14:"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; Not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

Jeff's talk was awesome, per usual, and one thing that I really loved that he spoke about, was how we all have times in our lives when we feel like we can't get up, or are just kind of stuck. It is exactly those times that the Lord will pick us up and bring us back into his arms, through the atonement, and help us to feel the immense love he has for each one of us, individually.
